Harvest Festival

Next week (4 October 2009) is our Harvest Festival family service with communion. We have been saving our loose change for WaterAid and we will be offering our gifts of tinned/dry goods for the Blenheim Project . Church and community groups have kindly volunteered to decorate the windows; we look forward to seeing them. You are warmly invited to join us; the service starts at 10.30 am.

Back to Church Sunday

This week we celebrated Back to Church Sunday and it was a great joy to welcome those who came back to us for this special day. We very much hope to see them again. Moira led the service and helped us to consider why any of us come back to church, whether it is once in a blue moon, or each week. We used the story of Zacheaus to think about how we come together to worship, to share our stories about Him, and to support each other, knowing that in all things, we are surrounded by God's love. We also looked at the three sections of concentrating our thoughts on God, listening to his Word and then doing something, by offering our money to the work of the Church and praying for others. It was lovely that so many stayed for coffee and a chat after service.

Back to Church Sunday

On Sunday 27 September 2009 we invite you to join us at 10.30 am for Back to Church Sunday. This is a national initiative instigated by the Church of England. Churchgoers are encouraged to invite someone they know who used to attend church to come back. Sadly, one of our Thackley friends recently lost her battle against illness; however, she left a wonderful testimony that told how, having eventually agreed to go to church with her friend, she found a loving church family and the peace and love of God. If you’ve been thinking of going to church and never quite made it, then why not join thousands across the country and seize the opportunity offered by Back to Church Sunday. You are warmly invited to join us; a warm welcome awaits you. Just come as you are.

From 1 September 2009 the Woodhouse Grove Circuit or churches ceased to exist and we are now part of the new Bradford North Circuit. As such we have a new Web page at http://www.bradfordnorth.org.uk/thackley.html Please amend your bookmarks.
