Christian Aid

Needy folk in far-off places would like to thank you (I'm certain of that!) for supporting the beetle drive and supper last week. A grand total of £234.00 was raised. The next Christian Aid events that I hope you will support are Christian Aid Week (from 9th to 15th May) and soon after the "At Home", or coffee morning, call it what you will, that Margaret and I are repeating from last year. This will be on Saturday 29 May from 10.00 am to midday. John V

Fairtrade - Thank you!

Many thanks ... to everyone who has supported the Fairtrade stall this week, by helping and buying. We managed to bring Fairtrade to the attention of the many people who use our building during the week and we raised over £900 in the process! Special thanks to Lisa for being an organiser extraordinaire! The BIG swap This year the Fairtrade Foundation are encouraging us all to swap our usual stuff for Fairtrade stuff. Buy Fairtrade bananas instead of your usual, Fairtrade cotton socks and, of course, a Fairtrade cuppa for your usual cuppa. Use your wallet to make a stand, and register your swap online at http://www.thebigswap.org/ Fairtrade Big Brew Tea Party A Big Brew Tea Party will be held at Calverley Methodist Church this Saturday 13 March at 3.00 pm. There will be a Fairtrade stall and children's activities. Tickets £2, available on the door or from Ros.
