Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in Thackley

Thackley & District Specsavers Gala


10.30 am - Fancy Dress Parade for children under 14 years, leaves care park of Shoulder of Mutton to march via Leeds Road, Crag hill Road to Thackley Cricket Club.
10.30 am - Book sale and refreshments at Thackley Methodist Church.
10.30 am - Bouncy Castle opens at Thackley Football Club
10.30 am - Bungee Pull open Thackley Football Club.
11.00 am - Burger Bar opens at Thackley Football Club selling ot food and drinks.
11.00 am - Fancy dress judged by Mr 7 Mrs J Ludgate of Nabwood, Shipley.  Best dressed Girl and Boy receive trophy and medallion.
11.15 am - Karate demonstration  - Thackley Methodist Church
11.30 am - Ladies tug of war competition takes place at Thackley Cricket Club.
11.30 am - First domino challenge at Thackley Commercial Pub.
11.30 am - First pool matches start at Great Northern Pub.
12.00 noon - Men's tug of war competition starts at Thackley Cricket Club.
12.15 pm - "Street Party" at Thackley Methodist Church.
12.15 pm - Ladies "wellie" chucking competition begins on Birk Hill slope.
1.00 pm - Second leg of domino challenge takes place at Thackley Commercial Pub.
1.00/3.00 pm - Face painting at Thackley Football Club.
1.00/4.00 pm - Raffle and sale of cakes in Clubhouse, Thackley Football Club.
1.30 pm - Second leg of pool matches start at Thackley Commercial Pub.
2.30 pm - Final of pool competition at Thackley Cricket Club.
3.30 pm - General Knowledge Quiz starts at Thackley Shoulder Pub.
4.30 pm - Sports quiz starts at Thackley Shoulder Pub.
5.45 pm - Hog Roast  served at Thackley Football Club.
7.00 pm - Race Night begins at Thackley Football Club.
9.45 pm - Short service of thanksgiving held at Railway vent on Birk Hill
10.00 pm - Thackley's Beacon to be lit by David Ward MP.

The sole purpose of these events is to draw together all elements of our village in a celebration of the life and times of Queen Elizabeth II.

Admission to all venues is free.  Our designated charity is Help for Heroes; any donation will be gratefully received.
