Room bookings

Community Hall
We have rooms available for regular activities, one-off events, and children's parties at reasonable rates.

Regular use

Hourly rates:

From 1 September 2023

  • Standard rate - £21.50 per hour per room.
  • Non-profit community rate - £18.50 per hour per room.

Holidays/breaks:

We aim to protect God's world and minimise the impact of climate change, and expect our community groups to play their part by recycling and reducing energy usage whenever possible. Please notify us when you are not meeting, otherwise you will incur the usual hourly charge. 

One-off events

Payment in advance is required to secure your booking.
  • Standard rate - £25.00 per hour per room.

Children's party pack (11 yrs and under)

We offer a standard children's party pack:
  • Term time: from 1 pm at weekends and limited midweek hours.
  • School holidays: midweek and extended weekend hours.
This includes use of the Community Hall and Kitchen for a 2 hour party plus 30 mins setting out and 30 mins clearing away. Payment in advance is required to secure your booking.
  • Standard party pack - £60.00
  • Additional party or setting up/clearing away time is charged at £25.00 per hour or part thereof.

Important:

  • We can only accept parties for children age 11 and under.
  • We operate a timed door entry system so please be realistic about the duration of your party. You will run into difficulties if you book 2 hours when you really want 3!
  • No Bouncy Castles. Due to insurance and public liability restrictions and complications, and the increasing cost of electricity, bouncy castles are not permitted.
  • Please clean up after the party (using the free 1/2 hour we give you!) Cleaning equipment is supplied. Please leave the premises as you’d expect to find them. We reserve the right to charge £20 to cover cleaning when this is disrespected
  • Please take your rubbish home with you.
  • Please do not stick anything on the painted walls or the protected windows. 
  • Any breakage or damage to property should be reported immediately.
  • Only park in the TMC spaces - numbered spaces belong to the neighbouring residents.
  • Safeguarding vulnerable adults and children is paramount so you are expected to respect the Methodist Church Safeguarding policies (local and national) at all times. 
  • Alcohol, betting/gambling, smoking or vaping are not permitted on Methodist premises at any time.
  • Party rates are reviewed annually, approved by the Church Council and are effective from 1 September to 31 August.
  • Payment is required in advance by BACSs transfer direct into the church account to secure your booking.
  • The Hirer should be present throughout the hire period to supervise the event to ensure full compliance with legal requirements, Health & Safety regulations and the terms of this agreement, and to protect the reputation of Thackley Methodist Church.
  • No refunds will be given for cancellations.
