Coffee, Cake and Chat

At our January Church Council meeting, we were asked to explore setting up a Leadership Team; however, after several discussions and in the spirit of Team TMC, we decided that a better way forward was to have open and informal discussions for all the church family to suggest ways forward and to contribute in different ways to sharing the inevitable workload that comes with running a family home, in our case a rather large and aging church building.

So, Coffee, Cake and Chat was born!

We had our first gathering this week and shared lovely conversations. Various points were raised and discussed, including windows, painting and drains, the layout and use of banners and notice boards
in church, prayer trees, and ways in which our younger members (the teenagers associated with the church family) could get together for fellowship and mutual support.

It was suggested that Take A Second (our informal worship/fellowship session that takes place on the second Sunday of the month at 6.00 pm) should be promoted to encourage singers who don’t play an
instrument, and possibly to incorporate elements of dance.

It was noted that some of our members don’t find it easy to attend evening meetings, so following the next Church Council in June, the next Coffee, Cake and Chat will be in July after a Sunday morning service.

All are invited to attend these gatherings. They are a great way to feel involved, to proffer ideas and suggestions, and to find out and influence what is going on.
